First Email Online Dating – The top 5 tips for writing a first message
Writing a first online dating message is a real challenge for guys. And there are two “popular” methods…
The first is the shotgun approach where they have a generic message they send to a bunch of women and just play the numbers game.
The second is the sharpshooter method where they invest a bunch of time into writing just a couple of women, hoping the girl will write back.
Most guys do the shotgun approach.
How do I know?
Because in my fake profiles of absolutely incredible women there is a little line near the top of their profiles that says…
“And just to weed out the guys who just look at my pictures and don’t read my profile, put “Green” in the subject line or your message doesn’t get read.”

So it looks like the same old advice…
1. Read her profile and comment on something in it.
Seems pretty basic, and it’s the single best thing you can do. Simply by showing that you read her profile you went ahead of 92% of the guys out there. That’s a pretty good head start.
But… even if you read her profile, you have a long way to go to get a reply from a girl.
2. Don’t suck up
Do not EVER tell a girl how pretty she is, how nice she looks, or how cute she is. These things scream “I’M DESPERATE” from the first sentence.
Now, you think you’re being nice. I mean after all, women love compliments, right?
Kind of. Women love original, genuine compliments they’ve had to work for. So do you. So do I. The things we work for are the things we value.
But you give all your power away if you tell her you find her attractive before you’ve made her prove herself to you.
3. Be different
You need to show her something about your personality that’s unique and interesting. It can be the way you write, the things you do, or your attitude.

4. Flirt a little bit
Fire up the sexual tension right from your first email. Tease her flirt with her. Tell her she sounds like fun, but you’re not sure about her yet.

5. Keep the power
As soon as you hit “send” on your message, you’ve lost a little bit of power. She’s in control. She holds the cards. Your fate is in her hands.
No guy likes to be in this position. You want to keep control of things, even if you send her a online dating message first.
So what you do is write your first online dating message so that you challenge her a little bit. Make her want to chase you.
