How to Rank at the Top When Women do Online Dating Searches

As promised in my last post on online dating emails, here is the answer to a reader’s question about how to stay at the top of the online dating search results.

Also, I’m going to give you a few tips to make online dating on almost all the major sites work better for you. One of my best friends is friends with the founders of POF and I have a few inside tips that are going to make your profile show up more and higher up in the searches.

The algorithm on most of these sites is set up to give profiles with new pictures higher ranking in the searches and in those little thumbnails. So the first thing you want to do is change your picture. Well, you don’t have to actually change your picture, you just have to get the algorithm to think you did. So here’s what you do.

First, find the picture you want for your main profile picture on your computer, if it’s the same one that’s up there now, you need to rename the picture.

Then simply upload the “new” picture and delete the “old” one.
Another thing you want to do is be signed in as much as possible. The more you’re signed in, and the longer you’re signed in, the higher up you rank in the searches. So stay logged in, even if the online dating site is only running in the background.

You want to be logged in at least once every 24 hours even if it’s just to log on and immediately log back off.

Also, send out two emails as soon as you log in. They can be new, initial emails to a woman, or a reply to a woman who has already emailed you. Again, the algorithm in most dating sites keeps track of the frequency of your emails. The more you email, the more often your thumbnail gets viewed by women.

And, the best thing to do, though it takes more time, is to create a whole new online dating account. So, if you have another email address you can create a new online dating account with, do it. This is the single most effective way to rank at the top of the searches and have your thumbnail show up. For the first week your profile will stay up near the top of the searches as long as you log on at least once every 24 hours.

Another highly effective tip depending on the website is to start your username with the number “1”. All other things being equal, or as equal as the algorithm can make them, the search results are usually sorted alpha-numerically. So numbers come up first, then letters in the alphabet.

111 comes before 2. Anything starting with JUST a 1 comes up before 1x, whether that x is a number or a letter.
