Online Dating First Emails—Making a template to copy and paste from

Online Dating Email Template

online dating email template

I’ve written a lot about writing copy and paste online dating email messages…

Especially first online dating messages since you guys have asked for them.

I found a blog post with some good ideas that I wanted to pass on to you, but first there is something that confuses me a little about this.

See, I don’t understand why so many people want to know what to write in a first message. I think it’s far better to figure out what to do so that women contact you first.

It’s really a time management thing. If we invest our time to find ways to get women to message us first, it makes the whole seduction process much easier.

Magnetic Profiles

That’s exactly what I did when I wrote Magnetic Profiles. I figured out what got women to write guys a first message and then wrote the book based on that. If you don’t already have it, you might consider ordering the eBook for your computer, iPad, or iPod.

But, let’s just say that you don’t have my book and you want to write a first online dating message to a girl. Here are some good all-around tips.

The idea is to come up with a template that you can fill in the blanks with. It’s not as advanced as the system I came up with, but if you don’t want to spend the money, this is a good start.

Online dating tips when creating your template:

1.) Make your message about 150 words. This is longer that the average message so you will stand out more. (A message that is more than 200 words comes off as needy, though).
2.) Include a sentence that’s funny.
3.) Include a sentence that says a little bit about you. Even though you already talked about yourself in your profile, do it anyway. When she reads it in the context of the rest of your message, she’ll think about why she’s right for you.
4.) Make it intriguing and vague. Leave things up to her imagination.
5.) Include a “call to action.” Give just a quick, generic “We should grab coffee or a beer sometime.” Don’t wait until the second or third message to do this– in fact, you’ll be surprised at how many women will say yes on the first message.
6.) All you need is one sentence that says something about her somewhere in the message. If what you say about her is authentic, and you are working from a good template, your entire message will seem completely original.

“But I don’t feel comfortable cutting and pasting.”

That’s fine. Just retype a similar message each time. The key is to know what to say so that you can get messages out rapidly– and the fact is, the only thing you really need to change in each message is the sentence about her. The rest is you demonstrating something about yourself and why you think you two would get along.
As another online dating tip, test your message and keep track of your response rate. Use trial and error to evaluate the effectiveness of your message until you arrive on one that’s good. Source

Pretty good start if you ask me. And if you add in the stuff I talk about where you use bubblewords and sensewords, I think it would be even better.
