How to Write the Best Online Dating Profiles for Men
I put together some of the best male online dating profile examples for you guys since I’ve had some many questions writing an online dating profile.
Creating your profile is one of the most important things you do in the internet dating game.
First of all, it’s the first real glimpse women have of you… whether they find you in the searches or you’ve sent them a first message.
Your profile needs to get her excited about you. It has to make her get all wound up about starting a conversation with you. And your profile is the perfect place to show that you’re fascinating as well.

And guys, the competition is fierce. Halfway attractive women get between 10 and 50 messages a day on any online dating site.
No matter if you’re looking for a regular woman or a model, I want you to have the best online dating profile possible. Because…
No matter how great a message you send, or what a great guy you are, or how good you’d be for a girl… if your profile doesn’t get her interested, it’s party over.
After writing profiles for over 200 guys, and testing at least a thousand different profiles, I’m going to give you a few of my best tips, along with a couple of online dating profile examples I personally use…
How to write a good profile for online dating
1. Ask a question right away
Here’s what you’re going to do… the first line of your profile needs to ask a question. Some women don’t want to read your whole profile, they just want to talk to you, so give her the easy way out and ask her something right away.
The thing that’s worked the best for my clients is to mention one of your pictures and say something like: “If you want the whole story behind the picture at (local tourist attraction), send me a quick message and ask.”
2. Next, I want you to create a picture of what you’re most passionate about.
Women want to FEEL things, so write your profile so she can see, feel, hear, taste, and smell what you’re talking about. And yeah, I know writing that way might make your buddies gag, but I’m not terribly interested in attracting guys. What I want are women, so I make myself attractive to women.
Do that by writing your online dating profile so it creates images in her head, let her get lost in your story… let her get lost in you and in the process she will become attracted to you.
3. Stand out from the crowd
Writing good online dating profiles isn’t easy. Most profiles are the same. They’re boring. They read like a laundry list. Or they sound exactly like every other guy’s profile on the site.
Talk about something that you love, something that makes you unique… and make it something women are interested in. If you have a choice between telling women that you love to work on your car on the weekends or that you’re taking a class on wine tasting… go with the wine tasting.
If you want the best online dating profile, it’s important to show that you are passionate and that you do interesting things… things she might want to do as well.
Here I combine 2 and 3 above while talking about paragliding, guys think it’s lame, women LOVE IT:
There’s nothing like the feeling of floating in the serenity of the cool smooth air right below the clouds, looking down on the earth to give you a new perspective on the world and life. In me, it creates this incredible feeling of gratitude and fascination. And in the next second you can do crazy, insane, adrenaline pumping tricks: spiral dives at 65 mph and swinging over your paragliding like an aerial cartwheel. It’s a rush.

4. Write about things in your profile that women like to talk about.
Just mentioning something that’s going on in the entertainment industry somewhere in your profile can get you an extra 1 or 2 emails a day. For example a friend of mine threw this one line in his profile and got women sending him messages about it in an hour: “…and can you believe what’s going on with Heather Locklear and Jack Wagner?” He doesn’t care one bit… but women do.
5. The best online dating profiles ask her to send you a message
The last bit of online dating profile advice I have for you is to end your profile by asking her to contact you.
A simple one liner at the end of your profile that tells her to send you a message if she’s interested is perfect. Sometimes women just need permission to do what you want them to do, so ask for what you want. This gets women who aren’t sure if they want to message you or not to send you an email almost every time.
This is the one I use:
You know, you’ve read this far… why not take a chance? We may be great together. But we’ll never know if I don’t run across your profile and you don’t say hi. So, please send me a brief message while you’re here.
Oh, and a lot of guys mess up their headline so make sure you read this post on choosing your online dating profile headline. Those cute, romantic, catchy headlines you think are great… they will bomb every time.
Seriously guys… this is great stuff here, but to be effective, you have to have everything right. Many of you probably already have my book on writing online dating profiles including how to write emails so that women give you their phone number in 2 messages and what to do if you (for some God-awful reason) have to initiate contact. If not, you can buy Magnetic Profiles right now.
I added a great post with dating profile examples here.
Hey guys, I just found this video and had to share. It’s a spoof, but kinda real from the stories I hear. Funny in a scary way.
